Hi,

I am doing vocabulary words for English and the instructions say, " Write a sentence using a pop- culture allusion that illustrates your knowledge of the following vocabulary words." I just don't understand when it says to use a pop- culture allusion. I have never heard of the before, and can't find it on the internet.

Any help?

Thanks!

  1. To allude to something is to suggest or imply it, so a pop culture allusion is something which refers indirectly to something from pop culture (popular songs, movies, TV shows, video games, etc.).

  2. A pop-culture allusion is a reference to popular culture, things you expect people to understand because you figure everybody knows about it.  If you find yourself in an embarrassing situation and say "Beam me up, Scotty," you're making a pop-culture allusion.
