What is power shifting and how do u do it?(in a car)?

I pretty sure it is when you dont use the clutch and you shift at the perfect amount of rpms. My buddy bought a 99 Cobra and when he test  drove it he did that to see if the transmisson was messed up .

when you don't use the clutch, not recommended on light vehicals

power shifting is when you shift near redline without taking your foot off the gas, you perfect this and do it very quickly, you can be a stick shift hero like me :)

clutchess shifting is when you just let off the gas, causing a fraction of a second freeplay in the trans, and shift at the exact same time..there really is no reason to do that.  

so..you wanna go thru the entire process of power shifting....

you are sitting at the line.  you are in your 05 mustang gt (thats my car) and the tree goes yellow...you hold your RPMs around 3500, and just as the tree turns green, you sidestep your clutch, and stick your fot out the radiator....hold your foot on the gas, quick clutch and snatch 2nd gear, that was easy....lots of people miss the 2-3 shift, youre thinking about it, you quick keep your foot on the gas n snatch the 2-3 shift clean, youre flying now, she winds up 3rd, and you powershift to 4th, and thru the traps you roll....

ps.  dont try to do it with the traction control on :)  in fact, if you do have an 05+ stang, you cant do it unless you have had your car custom tuned, FORD has alot of safety measures installed stock that need to be dealt with.  cyah

Power shifting is when you hold the accelerator to the floor, and very quickly hit the clutch while slamming the shift lever into the next gear.

Power shifting is shifting gears without using the clutch.

Or when you are driving forward in say, 2 or 3, and then quickly YANK it into reverse, like in the movies. Pretty rad once you get the hang of it.
