The power train is basically the engine, where the "power" comes from in the vehicle, in otherwords everything needed for your vehicle run, the drive train is everything after the powertrain... on a rear wheel drive; clutch, transmission, driveshaft, differential, and axle, on a front wheel drive; Transaxle (which is a combination of the transmission and the differential) and the CV Joints. On rear wheel drive, engine, transmission, drive shaft and rear end. If the car has a standard transmission, the power train would include the clutch. There are many related parts that are not considered as power train components
