What is preventing me from playing this game?

Question

Me and my friends always play age of empires 2 over the same lan network, but this morning when we tried to play it wasn't working. Nothing was touched overnight, and we have no idea why it suddenly stopped working. We used the LAN connection to play, but now for some reason we can't play against each other. What might be the problem? The computers are side by side and connected the the same wirelesss internet and same modem.
