you can do Tatkal reservation on the spot .but it take full fare starting station to ending station. and some other conditions apply if you want know more go to www.indianrail.gov.in

u can reserve tickets in Tatkal kota...To reserve tickets through internet...go to www.irctc.co.in by using any bank debit or credit card u can reserve tickets there

u can take tatkal ticket which can be bought 5 days in advance of ur journey.......but in tatkal ticket u have to buy the ticket from the originating ststion of the train to the terminating station of the train irrespective of which station u board or alight from the train....so better look for a train which originates fom ur boarding point and terminates at ur alighting station......happy journey
