What is procedures for RE-3, JFV?

Question

My recruiter says I need a "letter" from a doctor stating that I am no longer depressed, before he can send my packet to MEPS. Is this usual for my code? I can't afford it right now and I want to know if it's absolutley necessary. I was under the impression that MEPS would handle that. I've asked 5 different recruiters and got 5 different answers.

My file says "personality disorder with depressed mood"

i was discharge with the same code, this is what you have to do.

1.contact a recruiter

2. make sure you have at least a year after the discharge.

3. write an statement of what happen to you in basic training.(ended with a good 2 or 3 sentences of how good you have been doing since you left)

4. schedule a physical

5. then send the waiver and the statement

6. let the waiting game.
