  1. To forgive is a choice you make. Healing comes from a process that usually takes time.  You will never forget but with the decision to forgive

you have chosen healing. You may choose forgiveness on a daily basis. It may not and usually is not a one time decision. You are always tempted to bring the situation back up to moan and or to

enjoy the emotions involved. The emotion of self indulgent is always a a choice. Just entertain the hurt and you will enjoy the same emotion for a while..Is it worth the suffering or not.  Does it actually feel that good to experience it all over and over and over again...

Oh well, that too is your choice.  You don't deny your feelings you just choose to move on or stay in that situation however long you want.

It's all up to your decision....

  2. Forgetting is physically impossible, since the image is permanently imprinted on the brain.  But forgiving, which basically means removing the emotional context from an event, can eventually push the event back further in the brain so that is has less importance.  Not forgiving means maintaining the emotional content, and even increasing it, which keeps the event foremost in the brain and leads to all the damages of continued stress.
