What is production engg. and what are it's demand in future?

Production Engineering is a form of Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering that deals with the production of a product, process or service. Automotive assembly engineering is an example of Production Engineering. While this field has been successful during the US industrial revolution. It's importance has shifted to lower labor content regions such as China, Mexico and India.  Jobs in this career field are strained in the US right now.  However a solid engineering background has many uses and if you are fluent in one of the languages mentioned above you could have a very bright future ahead of you.
