What is proper golf attire for a female?

I live on a golf course - and have been golfing for over 30 years.  I am a female and really enjoy the game.  

Do you want to know the proper attire or the most comfortable?

Proper attire: Lots of correct answers; which is at the discretion of the golf course.  

Comfort:  Well now your talking my game... a golf shirt and Bermuda shorts (depending where you live)

Shorts or skorts.  Capri pants or regular length pants.  Sleeveless shirts with collars or mock neck shirt.  Depending on the club, denim is frowned upon.  No spaghetti straps.  Golf shoes, sandals or a regular tennis shoe.

If you want ideas all you have to do is to look at an LPGA tournament and see what your favorite player is wearing.  Pay special attention as to what they wear as the weather changes.  In the summer, skirts and collared shirts are the uniform, but these can change to long pant as the weather gets colder.  Wind breakers and rainsuits as needed.  My wife uses vest alot since they will also free up your swing.

It depends on what you want to accomplish on the course.   I have seen some short, short, short skirts on the LPGA lately.  Makes for good viewing, but really....wouldnt you be self conscious?   Shorts are always in style, with golf shirt (collared s/s shirt).  Skorts wil be fine, too.  And of course slacks when its chilly.   Mostly a collared shirt will go the furthest to making you look like a real golfer;  tshirts are for the booze crowd....

Most courses require men to wear collared shirts.  Most courses do not enforce this for women but they should dress like they were going to play golf and not to a hip hop club.

No denim, and no low cut shirts.  Dress like you are going to a nice restaurant or something in the summer, except with no dress.  Anything that shows you have respect for the game of golf.  Look how the men dress, and dress accordingly.
