Quantum-Touch is a vibrational touch therapy that incorporates touch, breath work, and body awareness meditations. Its concepts are closely related to polarity therapy. It is primarily a light-touch energy therapy, but it is secondarily promoted as a therapy that helps bones to spontaneously adjust to their proper alignment. Richard Gordon developed the Quantum-Touch therapy and published a book on this therapy, Quantum-Touch: The Power to Heal. The Quantum-Touch healing process involves the practitioner “running energy” into the recipient’s body. Often, practitioners employ a technique that is known as “sandwiching” or “the hand sandwich.” Sandwiching means that the practitioner will use his or her hands to sandwich the part of the recipient’s body that is to be treated. One hand will be placed on one side of the body part and the other hand will be placed on the other side. Another technique that is used for “running energy” into very small areas is to create a tripod using the thumb, forefinger, and middle finger. This is meant to help get the practitioner’s hands closer to the source of pain. Advanced techniques used in this system include harmonic toning, spinning the chakras, structural alignment, and distant healing.

I have a friend who is now a successful sports therapist.

When he was young he had this gift of healing by touch/massage. His father also healed by massage, in fact he instantly cleared me of shoulder pain I'd had since childhood (cricket injury).

I was astonished at my friend's success rate. He healed one man who had had a wasted leg muscle for many years. It took a year of treatment but the guy is totally back to a normal life.

Anyway, I asked my friend how, before he had even started his studies in the subject, he was able to diagnose the problems and put them right. His answer was simple. He said he could 'feel ' other people's pain through his fingertips and thus trace it back to the source where the sensation was greatest. Then he gently felt what was not normal and in most instances he was able to manipulate it back into it's correct position. Things like trapped nerves, ruptured muscles were literally 'child's play to him. Is this what is meant by quantum touch?

QT is another energy healing modality similar to Reiki, Seichim, Qigong, Huna, etc.

It's a form of energy healing, like reiki or theraputic touch.  They don't work - in fact, theraputic touch was debunked by an 11 year old, who then became the youngest person ever to be published in a medical journal.  If an 11 year old can show you it's all bullshit, why do adults keep falling for it?

Quantum-Touch is a hands-on healing system that claims to utilize "universal life force energy" (Qi) to assist oneself and others heal physical and emotional issues.Quantum-Touch differs somewhat from Reiki in that practitioners are taught specific body awareness and breathing techniques to augment the flow of energy from practitioner to client. Quantum-Touch falls under the broad category of "energy healing" within the realm of Alternative medicine.

As with Reiki and other energy-based, alternative healing modalities, Quantum-Touch faces skepticism within the Western scientific community with regard to claims of its effectiveness. Quantum-Touch (often called QT by practitioners and instructors) has, however, found acceptence in various circles, such as by Dr. C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D., Founding President of the American Holistic Medical Association.

It is yet another paranormal fad attempting to sound "science-y" by co-opting the name of an area of science most familiar yet least understood by the teeming masses, quantum mechanics. Of course, it goes without saying that quantum mechanics has nothing to do with any of it.
