What is "Golf IQ"?

Heard it mentioned on some sports broadcast...

Aside from the brand name, what is "Golf IQ"?

I don't even know why I'm asking... felt like being hypercritical of the announcer...

I tend to hear this a lot when im watching golf on tv. Golf IQ is just how much you know about golf, what to do in tight situations on the course, course management, and making the safer and better shot when possible.

Well here is a link to a product called Golf IQ , but other than that I would think Golf IQ would just be another way to say someone is using intelligence and making smart decisions while playing their round of golf .

It is not a term commonly used, but it would mean playing "smart" golf or using good course management.  In other words if you get into a bad situation, don't try to get out with one impossible shot which made lead to triple bogey, but rather chip out and try to get up and down for par or make bogey at worst.  Not fireing at flags that will leave you shortsided with no chance to save par.  In other words only taking risks when the downside consequences are not so severe as to cost you dearly.
