You need an air tank with a regulator.  You should have some device for monitoring your air supply, normally just a wrist-watch with a timer, telling you how much time you have left (estimated, based upon average consumption).  If you're doing something strenuous down there, you'll burn through the oxygen more quickly.

You'll want swim-fins and goggles, and depending on the water temp, a full wetsuit to keep warm.

  3. Scuba diving is diving witht he use of a self conatined underwater breathing aparatus, or sometime called aqualung. An aqualung is basically one or two steel or aluminum tanks filled with compressed air. To scuba dive, one basically needs a tank, air, a regulator, and a working tank valve. Other nifty devices come in handy, and taking a course or class would help.

  4. it's  diving with oxygen bottle on your back and you will need looooads of equipement and most of all: you'll need to join a diving class before you can do it!

  6. Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus

there's two types on open circuit and a closed circuit, usually called a rebreather.  the cheapest is open circuit; it can be one or two tanks and some hoses and can be rented at your local marina or some water sports type store.

  7. It is diving deep into the deep waters of the ocean.  You will have to carry the equipments and oxygen for for staying deep. Further and most important is that you have follow strict procedures, since under pressure you body will take in nytrogen, which wil have to be released slowly for which you have to stay in water for specific periods of time ar specified deapths.  If one comes out from the deep all of a sudden, all the absorbed nytrogen will be released immediately and it is a sure very painful sudden death.  So first get proper training, then under the strict supervision of the instructor, practice.

  8. SCUBA is a very gear intensive sport.  Needed equipment includes: mask, fins, thermal protection, air tank with regulators, buoyancy device, weights, and air pressure gauge.  It is also requires taking training classes to know how to use everything without killing yourself.
