What is "fair" compensation for my Auto Accident Injury?

About 1 month ago I was in an Auto accident where another driver rear ended me and knocked me into the driver ahead of me. I started seeing my chiropractor immediately and have been seeing him 3 times weekly since. I am starting to feel better and know that the insurance adjuster will be calling soon to settle the claim. My question is what would be fair compensation. I sustained soft tissue injury-a Severe strain to my back and neck. My vehicle has all ready been repaired.

  1. My advice: see a REAL doctor. Chiropractors are little more than witch doctors and will have you in 'treatment' for years if they can get away with it. Most claims adjusters will pull the plug on excessive chiro 'treatments' after about a month -- simply because they are not healing you, only making your sore neck feel better. Keep this in mind before you decide to 'treat' for eight months because likely you will be left holding the bill for thousands and thousands of dollars.

  2. the number one question is what does your lawyer say you do have one. my wife was involved in an accident 3 years ago we still havent settled. in your case you will be going back and forth nto the doctors . do not settle hang on as long as you can you do not know what will happen in the future good luck

  3. There is no real formula for settlements.  Each insurance company has it's own set of procedures.  You have to look at the damages to all vehicles, types of vehicles they were, etc.  You want to be fair about the entire transaction, just as they should.  Their responsible for pain/suffering, medical and lost wages.  They will try to low ball you, yet everything should be negotiable.

    Good luck!!
