  1. It means that the insurance will pay for temporary housing if you lose the use of your home. For example, if your house catches fire and you have to move out while repairs are made, they will pay for a temporary place.


  2. Loss of use pays when there is a covered loss & you can no longer live in your home, whether totalled or a partial loss.  This pays the DIFFERENCE between your normal monthly bills & the new monthly bills you have because you have to live elsewhere.  Some bills probably will go away such as the cable, electric & landline phone bills.  Other bills stay such as mortgage & taxes.  If you have to drive extra to work, you may be able to be reimbursed some extra car expenses.  So, say your normal bills are $1,000 per month.  If you have to live elsewhere, your bills are now $1500, the company will pay the difference of $500.  Also, if it is possible to pull in a trailer on your land while your house is being repaired, this could be an option too.
