What is "net reproductive success"?

  1. The amount of females born to females over their reproductive years. This is sans males for a reason; females carry the progeny of matings.


  2. Hmmmm - I thought it was the number of surviving offspring.  Those surviving offspring would then need to reproduce in order to be considered "net" success.

    I've never heard anything about females as more important.  Aren't males just as important as females when it comes to producing offspring?
