  1. Well, the deal is...if you get sand in your clam....those worms go in there and dig it out!......i think......

  2. clam worms  or sand worms - salt water worms that are very good for catching bluefish and other bigger species of ocean going fish. Usually fished in tributaries and inland coastal regions round these parts. lots of good fishing here in Maine.

Gotta watch out for the teeth. Suckers will pinch you hard with their teeth. Teeth that are used to break throught a clams shell. Thats why their called clamworms.

  3. Fishing bait, all species of saltwater fish in & around bays & sounds. A harvester of wild ones can make upto 50K a year(usa). Clam worms are big money in the USA,striped Bass Rec.fishermen target big bass with these worms.Example = harvester .45cents a pc paid. bait shop sells clam worm up to as high as $15 Dozen. reg.sand worms Harvester gets .28 cents a pc, shop sells to rec.fisherman $7.50 a dozen.

  4. Good question. That is because the sand gets under the worm and gives him ground to move. The clam is the money they make and call it 'clam' I think.
