What is "sugar alcohol"?

I found that ingredient in the gum I just bought...

is that stuff bad for you? can it affect you if it is only 1 gram?

  1. it is like sorbitol. it is a "sugar free" sweetening agent. Very much of it gives lots of people digestive upsets and cramps.

Common sugar alcohols include sorbitol, mannitol, maltitol, and xylitol.
