A friend just told me she has a hearing next week for - workmens comp payment modification.

She's not sure what it means and can't get a hold of her lawyer.

I tried to google it but nothing.

She's in Pa. by the way

Thanks

  1. Is your friend currently on Worker's Compensation disability?  This may have something to do with the amount paid to her for disability, they may think they have overpaid and are now investigating to see if they need to get money back from her.  She should have received a letter that explains what this hearing means.  If not, I would tell her to contact the state agency holding the hearing to ask what this is for.  Don't just let this sit, she needs to be prepared for it.

    Good luck to your friend!

  2. It's most likely something to do with her temporary total disability (TTD).  Some adjusters add it wrong or they just go with the info that they have.  However its most likely that your friend's lawyer found something wrong with the TTD rate and she wasn't getting the money that she was suppose to have, hence it was her and her lawyer that called for a hearing.
