  1. Reaction time is the time it takes for an involuntary response to occur (as in human physiology/kinesthetics)

It is also the point following the duration at which a physical entity achieves chemical/physical shift (physical science)

    Examples:

(physiology/kinesthetics) : Moving your hand over a hot stove coil, and pulling away (involuntarily) when it becomes too hot.

Dodging a baseball being thrown at you.

Twisting your body in the act of falling so as to achieve equilibrium.

    (chemistry) Homogenous mixtures.

    Polarization (dipole moment).

All of the above are reactions. Reaction time is the time it takes to act on the reaction.

Variables affecting such are primarily limited to the duration at which the reaction must occur. With respect to the human body, reaction time could be affected by poor coordination between the cerebellum and the cerebral cortex (controlling perception and sensorimotor functions), for example.

    I hope this helps!
