  1. accumulate toilet paper rools and get the kidsto paint or color them black, gule black paper wings to the back, put googly (I love that word lol) eyes on them...and call them bats...even though after 3 and 4 year olds get done with them they will probably look like ducks or something (lol)

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. making pumpkins and play some game  like 1 when u ask questions and if they get it right they make a whole pumpkin first they half to get a question right to get a pumpkin then they get a nose or a mouth and they halve to get a stem first 1 with a jackolatern wins

  3. You can make them draw pumpkins and let them cut it out.

Another is activity is to put crushed orange and black papers on a cut pumpkin face..

  4. IN my daughters preschool the take medium sized paper bags stuff them with newspaper twist and close the top with an elastci band and the paint the outside one day the next day the go in and decorate them to look like jack o lanterns they are so adorable.

  5. take a potato(the one you eat) and cut it in half. then carve a halloween theme shape(e.g. jack-o-lanterns, witche's hat etc) with a knife.make sure youve got one for every child. then give the kids tubs of paint(non toxic)with different colours in each, and tell them to dip the potato in it. then give them ach a piece of paper.

you could tell them to use it on a halloween card, or just a picture to hang on the wall.

    great arts and crafts excercise

  6. I made jack-o-lantern counting books with my kids.  First we carved a pumpkin and discovered what was inside.  Then we layered 6 orange circles and stapled at the top.  The kids used cut up scraps to decorate the top "pumpkin" as a jack-o-lantern.  Inside the book I had them glue a sentence I printed out that said "My pumpkin has _________ seeds."  They had to write in a number (we did 1-5) to complete the sentence and then glue that many "seeds" on the opposite page.  They were SOOOO cute!

Footprint ghosts: paint the bottom of their foot white and have them step on black paper.  After dry let them draw on a face and cut out.

Spiderwebs: cut out black circles and put in the bottom of a box/container of some sort.  Drop a few marbles in white paint (bleach makes a cool on too but I wouldn't use it with kids) and then roll them around in the box to make an abstract spiderweb.  I use puffy paint to let the kids make glow in the dark spiders on their webs.

  7. yea i would go with the pumpkins. Like separate the kids into 2 groups and buy 2 pumpkins so they can work on them separately. Then u can buy some decorations and let them help u decorate the classroom. Another idea is to let them draw and color halloween sheets. After that if u can get halloween cookies and they can decorate them too! It's fun that is wut i did with  my Cousin she works with preschool kids.

  8. an idea would be to make pumpkens out of egg cartons,or let them decorate cupcakes like jack o lanterns! hope this was helpful!:)

  9. One thing we do is cut out paper pumpkins and black paper shapes (circles, triangles, rectangles etc.). We let the kids paint or color the pumpkins orange and then we use the shapes to make the face. The kids love show us which shapes they know when they put them on!

Another that combines art with science, is we buy a huge pumpkin and take it apart. We talk about how a pumpkin grows and the different parts. then later, the kids draw a picture of the inside of the pumpkin. We've also done a pumpkin book (with the older ones) where they draw a picture of one part of the pumpkin on each page. And of course, they get to 'pretty' the cover. :) have fun!

  10. I would try those pumpkins you get in craft stores. The kids can use markers, paint, glue (hot glue works best but not for the little ones). Then they can add feathers, furry balls, eyes, noses, jewels, etc. They can be really creative and are nice to save.

  11. Pumkin Plates

    Supplies

    Paper Plates

    Foam Shapes

    Glue

    Orange Paint

    Directions

Use the plates as the pumkins then have the kids finger paint the pumkins. Glue the foam shapes onto the plates as eyes etc.

  12. You could find some kind of dish or bowl, and cut out some black construction paper to fit the bottom, and place a little white and orange paint in the bottom with a small marble and let the kids tip the container to make the marble roll through the paint. after they're done and the paint has dried, hot glue a plastic spider to the paper.

Buy or make orange Plado (making it is more fun), and then let the kids make a ball out of the Plado, and add googly eyes, and a nose, stem, mouth, and anything else you want using pipe cleaners.

  13. Take paper bags and stuff them with newspaper... then have the children paint the pumpkins orange with the stem green.  After they dry tie the top with green yarn and have the chidren use black paint to paint on the Jack-o-Lantern faces!  So cute!  They look great on a bulletin board when you attach each pumpkin by stapling green bulletin board paper to each one (by twisting each strip from one to another).
