  1. hey bruce, i was a traveller in england for many years, we would do the same thing!

out with the old, say goodbye properly to the old year.

  2. as a apache i can speak for my people. during a indian festival we burn all the years trash. such as bottles, plastic bags, wire, everything we have accummulated during the year. this allows us to "cleanse" the village. ridding it of unwanted items and allowing us to see the future in the rising smoke.

  3. yeah!this is the time i'm waiting for answering as a Hindu i request all my friends think about Ganesh nimarjana,as it really has dreadful effect on rivers and lakes or any kind of water pools and the under water creatures ,because of the colors of ideals and the plaster of paris or the other kind of chemicals used for making murtis and the nine days ritual of the festival creating sound pollution from loud speakers till late on streets, even drinking & drowsing in the name of God.GOD certainly will not be happy for this.follow the old way of celebrating this festivel using lake side clay for making ideals, no coloring ,small murtis kept only at home performing puja afterall this is not about show put up,this is for surrendering yourself to God.
