There is a local Vo-Tech School near me offering FREE classes to be a Certified Nurses Assistant. They pay for books, scrubs, the class, etc.... It is a 5 week course, 3 weeks in class 8am-3pm and 2 weeks clinical 6:30am-3pm. My questions are.... are you or do you know someone who does this work? Is it hard to do? Is it worth the pay and on average what is the pay? I am in Louisiana of you need to know that. What all does a CNA do? I know some of what is required of them, but I would like to know more from people who actually do this for a living.... Thank You!

  1. CNA is hard, hard work, I will not lie to you.

I was once a CNA and worked in a nursing home.

The pay was very sucky- but it was a segue way for me to get into the allied health care field.

You have to assist elderly people, help them to dress , bathe and feed them.  To have to make beds and change bed pans, take vitals and assist the Nurse in what other tasks she/he may put you to do.

It's back breaking work, but you will be helping a lot of elderly individuals that society has forgotten about.

Start as a CNA, learn phlebotomy and work your way up from there.

I wish you much luck my good friend.
