  1. Wholesale is bought by the stores usually in bulk at a lower price, then put on the shelves at the store jacking the price by at least 3, which makes it retail(resale).

  2. In whole sale the bulk quantity is purchased at lower price. Whereas in retail sale, the quantity is sold out at higher price but in lesser quantities to the end consumers.

  3. retail sales are goods and services sold to the retail customer by a retail store or outlet.wholesale sales could be middleman or jobber sales to the end seller or retailer.on some goods the jobber or wholesalers gross margin would be aproximately15% where as the retailer margin could be aprox 40%.There are many items that are not sold thru wholesalers but sold direct from mfg, or bot thru a buying office or group, such as imports which are very often purchased from china. the lead time shortest with wholesale purchases in many cases mens underware socks where you can turn over the merchandise faster. import sale for the retailer often needs over a year of lead time for comitment to buying office or group and letter of credit from bank to finance the purchase over a year away.
