What is safest/cheapest way to ship a camera from London to the USA.....Royal Mail or another recommendation?

I think that Royal mail will probably be the cheapest - and I think that you can insure the parcel and track it as well, have a look on their website and you should be able to get a price.

Do not know about costs, but ups are good

I would UPS it. I've never had any problems shipping with them. I have used Royal Mail and didn't like it. Not only did the items come to me damaged, but they came late.

Use UPS, they have offices in the states too, this will allow accurate tracking.
