  1. It cost me HOW much ?

You did tighten the stern gland, didn't you ?

Why is the plimsol line drawn around the cabin ?

I must remember to buy  a new calculator, i did all the displacement calculations by hand you know, and not once did my dyslexia acffet em

    first 2 are right

  2. There are lots of variants on this but there's one crucial thing to remember - the boat must be named by a female. The last ship to be named by a man was - the Titanic!

  3. Please float please float please float :)

    There both right

  4. I found this on Wikipedia:

"I name this ship Pacific Dawn, may God bless her and all who sail in her." Then the traditional champagne bottle breaking over the hull took place.

  5. i name the sub the titanic, and may all who goes down with her be remembered

  6. "I name [or rename] this ship "..............".

May Good Fortune smile on her and all who sail in her".

    Either s*x, (name).

    Either s*x, (proclaimer).

    Anything else is mumbo-jumbo.

Which, of course, you have every right to follow if you wish. (But it doesn't alter the fact.)

  7. www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/rename....

I bought an old fishing boat named "Kingfisher".

Didn't think the name really reflected my skill (I'm not that good), so I renamed her after my neice.  First trip out I won a fishing competition.  The prize? A new fishing boat!  So much for renaming a boat being bad luck.

  8. " I name this ship ........, and may God be with all who

sail in her "         followed by break of champagne

bottle on the prow,  or hull  ,   ( have launched  many

a yatch and canal boats in the same way !!)

  9. Last year on Isle of Wight a lady was naming her husband's brand new very expensive yacht. She got to the bit "I name this ship..." and the champagne bottle slipped out of her hand, whereupon she said "OH BUGGER".

so that's why there's a sailing yacht racing in the Solent that is called "Oh Bugger".

    True story.

  10. Look on Yahoo about this,. Make sure the boat is not already named. If it is, you have to do another thing. Bad luck to rename a boat unless you follow the steps to remove or denounce the old name.

  11. I name this boat/ship " --------------".

May God bless her and all who sail in her.
