  1. hot.

  2. very clean and very hot ...it is lovely and great for kids have a great time

  3. About 12 years ago Salou had a problem with the sewerage pipes bursting quite close to the shore. Some tourists developed typhoid and there was a hate campaign orchestrated by the Daily Mirror. The result was that holiday makers boycotted the resort in huge numbers. Salou became a Ghosts resort. In order to win the tourists back Salou Council and the Tourist Board spent a huge amount of money on modernising and putting what was wrong right.

Now the place is good, clean, and the entertainment is fine

Make sure you get to the Cap Salou end of the promenade on Sunday Night and watch the dancing water display its unforgettable. The promenade itself is one of the nicest on that coast, the beach is lovely and well cared for. A word of warning though the continuous stiff breeze off the sea is the most deceptive in spain. You will think, believe me you will think  !!!! It is not as hot as what it is and sunburn is a serious reality there. Take Shower Gel with you the salt content of the water is high and soap doesnt lather

There are many excursion available, water sports are good Scuba diving and octopi are rife. The gradient of the land out to sea is so slight you can paddle out 20-30 yds and it is just up to your knees. Fishing is good   Give the kids a chance and they will be gone  The Hotel Cap Salou is one of the better ones for entertainment and most of the hotels dont mind if your staying there or not as long as your spending a little. Across the road from the Hotel is a little Ice cream parlour. Tell Pedro, Robby says hi and you want your Sangria for free on the last night. Most are really friendly They like kids

  4. Believe it or not the problems in Salou regarding sewerage were actually 19 years ago.

They had a small outbreak of Typhus not Typhoid which are not the same thing and was blown out of all proportion by the tabloids.

A lot of pesetas were spent trying to sort it out.

I think its a great resort and have visited several times. La Pineda is about 5 miles down the coast and is home to the Aquopolis waterpark where you can see dolphins and sealions.

The beaches are good for children as the beaches shelve gently but there is a flag system in operation at La PIneda beach to warn of potential undercurrents so please take notice of the flags!

Tarragona 6 miles from La Pineda is good to get some culture as its a nice Roman city.

Lots of pubs cater for children as well.

    Have a good holiday!

I think its a good resort
