What is san diego like to live in?

Are there lots of things to do?

Is there a high crime rate?

What is the weather like?

Just want to know what it is like in general. :)

I have lived in San Diego for the last 30 yrs. It is the eden of paradise.

The number one attraction in my book is Balboa Park. All you have to do is walk around there and it is awe inspiring. The flora is spectacular. So many exotic trees and plants. The buildings represent aged architecture. While you are there, you definitely have to go to the zoo. This zoo is world class. No cages, unless you want to include the giant one that you walk into to view the multitude of different birds that live there. Check out the museums as well.

Sea World is also a major attraction as is the Wild Animal Park.

San Diego beaches offer fun in the sun year round. I was there last weekend (Mission Bay Park) and I took a short walk to the boardwalk where I was memorized by a wave riding contest in the wave cube (man made wave machine).

There is also a water park in Chula Vista.

San Diego is one of the few places in the world where it is feasible to snow ski and ocean surf in the same day!

Take a ride up to Julian and feast on the best apple pie in your life. Spend the night there and gaze at the star studded sky while the crickets trumpet by nature.

Do you like casino action? Several Indian reservations offer gaming and are anywhere f/ 1/2 - 1 hr. away f/ Mission Valley.

Walk around downtown San Diego's Gaslamp District for a wide array of sumptuous cuisine.

There are also countless nightclubs featuring quality music if that's your preference.

I could go on, but, I don't know if you are interested in what I'm saying.  

Crime? ... No more than any other big city. I wouldn't consider it as safe as some of the above answerers profess.

Weather? ... 72 degree mean temperature ... Doesn't get any better than that. It's sunny about 93% of the time.

San Diego is like living on vacation all year round.  There is always something to do, the weather is mainly comfortable with the exception of triple digit days inland, and there isn't a high crime rate.  The downside, it is expensive to live here.  Not just in terms of housing, but gas, electricity, water and even food.

I LOVE San Diego. I have lived here my entire life and I love it here. The weather is nice about 80% of the year (meaning you can pretty much see the sun all the time and wear sandals!)

Everyday, the weather is great, I go outside and walk my dog and the grass is green and the people are nice (though a little conservative). Then I go hang out with friends at the beach or the mall and we talk, laugh, go downtown to party and eat great food at restaurants for dinner. It's an amazing place to live and I love it!

There aren't very many hate crimes here. The closer to downtown or the beach you get, the better chances you'll find open minded people!

The weather is perfect, you might occasionally need a light jacket, and it sometimes rains in the winter, otherwise it is sunny all year round.

You can go to the beach, go hiking, running, surfing, biking, any kind of outdoor activity. You can also go to sea world, or go snowboarding at big bear nearby. There is great nightlife in Pacific Beach and the Gaslamp in downtown, or you can go to LA, Las Vegas and Tijuana on the weekends. The food is awesome with great indian, mexican, philipino, chinese, korean, japanese, hawaiian and fast food available.

It's also very safe, I never got robbed or heard of any friends who did. One of the coolest places in America IMO.
