  1. a scrimmage is an unoffical game against your own team or even sometimes against other teams from the same place.

  2. Its like a volleyball game but nobody keeps score. Its mainly used to practice and get ready for and upcoming game.

    hope I helped!

  3. scrimmage is usually done at camp or during tryouts and practices.  They're "fake or simulated games"... Its a way for the team to practice plays and their abilities without having to worry about the score of the game. Sometimes coaches with split up the team into two for the scrimmage or you can scrimmage with other teams from other schools before the season begins.  Its just another way to improve your volleyball skills and get used to the way games are played.

  4. It's just a practice game, not official.

  5. Yep...it is a practice game. Coaches can use this to evaluate the talent in a game situation from a throw together team. Usually they do this at camp or tryouts to see how the players mesh with the others in a game situation. It can last until someone wins or the coach has a time limit. Usually they will run long so the coaches can evaluate everyone at all positions through the rotation. If one team is obviously stronger they will sometimes just call sideout and force them to stop serving so everyone gets a chance.

  6. A scrimmage is an unoffical game. Whether you keep score or not, "win or lose" won't be recorded into your season's official book, thus won't affect your rank.

A scrimmage could be a 3 on 3, 2 on 2, or 6 on 6 against your second team, against your rival team, or against your coaches. You can do one game at a time, or best of 3, or even best of 5. Again it is not affecting your season, but is more like those preseason/summer-league games in NBA.

  7. A scrimmage is a practice match.  It could be against your own team or against another team.  It could have officials or not.  Regular matches are 3 out of 5 or 2 out of 3.  Scrimmages can be anything.  Usually, it is more timed.  They have an hour or two to play as many games as they can.

  9. Um..basically, scrimmage is just a mini game or informal game of the real game..does that make sense? Like, it's against your own team mates instead of an official game with opponents from different schools. Hope I helped a bit.
