Seattle is actually one of the teams that would be in great position to add an expansion club.  So i imagine they would try to expand the arena and see if they could draw another team to Seattle (which is a great NBA city) it's just that their new owner wanted to move the Sonics to Oklahoma City since he's from there.

And as others have said- there are other events there- but i think Seattle would be one of the favorites for an expansion club- or for a team to move to Seattle.

Maybe save it for concerts, and mabe in the next 5 yeras, have it for Seattle's new NBA team.

i live in Seattle and i read that The Memphis Grizzlies are planning to be the next team to move as well as the new jersey nets who are moving Brooklyn most likely. The Grizzlies are the least expensive team in the NBA so they may move their in the future or even Las Vegas. But the city has a 17 year lease on the Grizzlies so it may not happen

Why not put another basketball franchise in seattle.get back the supersonics name.

Plus, New York City being the biggest city in America should get another NBA team.

It's not just used for the Sonics. There are a lot of events held there like concerts, hockey, the Storm (WNBA), and other miscellaneous events.
