  1. A wood palet gets loaded with product first and then a wrapping of plastic is turned around and around it and heated and that holds the boxs in place during shipment.

  2. it's when psychiatrists think they're Eminem.

    j/k. Here's a copied reply:

Shrinkwrap is commonly used as an overwrap on many types of packaging: CDs, DVDs, cartons, books, beverage cans, large appliances, pallet loads, etc. It can be the primary covering for some foods such as cheese and meats. It is also used to cover boats after manufacture and for winter storage.

  3. Shrink wrap is just really what it sounds like it is...it is plastic wrap used around a product for safety reasons (ie tampering) that is exposed to heat, thus shrinking the plastic wrap causing a tight, even fit of the plastic and to make it possible to notice any tampering of the product...

When you take the plastic wrapping off of most products you buy, you are removing the shrink-wrap.
