  1. Laura's answer about sums it up.

  2. It's when you wake up or are falling asleep and (although you are conscious and awake) you temporarily cannot move your body. It's a symptom of narcolepsy. It's scary but not life-threatening.

  4. The brain is not perfect like nature,it does things it is not supposed to do.

You can be asleep and awake at the same time.

When you sleep, you are paralysised in some stages of sleep and if you are awake when this mechanism happens, your think "Oh s**t, I can't move!".

It accompanies hallunications like dreams are and so you may see loghts, shadows and hear strange nioses.

It is not dangerous as far as I know.

    Try looking up sleep hygiene.

  5. Sleep paralysis is a natural condition that occurs as people enter sleep. The brain shuts down signals to the muscles in the body. In cases of sleep walking these signals are shut off and the dreamer acts upon the dream. Visual hallucinations are rare but sounds such as buzzing, animal sounds, talking can be heard. Sensations such as tingling, numbness, are felt and thinking the bed is shaking is common.  It is common for people experiencing sleep paralysis to believe they are full awake.
