  1. Total Bases / At Bats

    Example: 25 singles, 10 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 Home run = 52 Total Bases. And say you did that in 150 AB, you would get 52/150 = .347 Slug %.

  2. i dont know

  3. Total bases divided by at-bats. So slugging percentage is how many bases per at bat a player reaches safely (on their own hits).

    here are a few things to remember:

    HR = 4

    Triple = 3

    double = 2

    single = 1

    Getting on base without a hit (walk, HBP, fielder's choice, error) does not help the total bases stat.

    Total bases is the number of bases reached on your own hits, so if you get a single then advance and score on hits by your teammates, you only get 1 base toward your total bases.

    To compute it first compute total bases:

    Total bases (TB) = 4 x home runs + 3 x triples + 2 x doubles + singles

    Then divide total bases by at-bats

    TB/AB = Slug%

    Slugging percentage is a combination of a power and average, in order to have a high slugging %, a player needs to bat for a good average AND have decent power.
