She is a fresh face that has not been corrupted by old line party politics. Having experienced both the good and bad of life her handling of tough matters far exceeds any Obama decisions.  She took on the party leadership and kicked butt and then accepted the challenge to raise a  handicapped child instead of aborting it. That says far more than any spin the media can give Obama.

Nothing really. They think she's an asset because she is attractive a woman, a former Buchanan supporter, anti choice and anti evolution. This will supposedly appeal to the theo cons, the NRA, as well as the oil barons . However it's a bad joke which will blow up in their faces

He’s  also looking for the Evangelical vote.  Palin, a creationist, anti-g*y, pro-lifer will appeal to this crowd.  Her fondness for creationism in schools, and the recent birth of a Downs Syndrome child can’t hurt here.

Did I say recent birth of a child?  Why, yes.  Our new Vice Presidential candidate has four children plus an infant son.  She obviously feels caring for her newborn won’t get in the way of her Vice Presidential duties.

And don’t worry fellas.  There’s plenty for you.  Sarah won second place in the Miss Alaska contest! Didn’t they have a card for that in Monopoly?  And John McCain knows how important it is to have a trophy wife (oops) Veep on his arm.

The pro-drilling crowd will be pleased too.  Why she’s even sueing the Federal Government for daring to suggest that polar bears should be listed as ‘threatened’.  Can’t have those damned bears interfering with the oil rigs.    

I think I’ll be chuckling all weekend over this.  More to come later.  There’s just so much fodder here."

I think that McCain only chose her to get some of the Hillary vote.

I live up in Alaska, (Sarah P. is the Governer of AK) and I'm tired of her being Gov. But if McCain dies, or something bad happens to him, I cannot imagine what will happen if Sarah Palin is the President of the USA. It blows!!!

Anyone who cares for true American values as set forth in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights (and not the values forced on our society by zealots) should thank John McCain for selecting Sarah Palin.  It makes Obama's election a sure thing.  Thanks, McCain.

She shares McCain's belief of fighting wasteful gov spending (famous Alaskan bridge to nowhere), and she Has taken on Big Oil interests and won, thus becoming the Governor of Alaska.

My wife and I have been following her career for about a year now.  I never thought she would be VP.  

She's very prolife.  She has a child with down syndrome and considers him a gift.

She's very anti corruption.  It's something needed in both parties.  I'm a GOP and I want corrupt politicians out since they don't actually follow conservative principals.  She was given a cushy job to keep quiet about some corruption and she resigned and beat the guy to become gov of AK.  He was in the same party.

She isn't elite at all.  She helps out on her husbands fishing boat.  She hunts Moose.  

She wants to drill in ANWR.  She points out that the whole reason AK was made a state was to get their oil and natural gas.  the citizins of AK feel the same way.  She want it done, and is at odds with McCain over it.
