  1. There are Vets for Obama but I don't believe your story for a second.

McCain has served this country well for the past 30 years in the Senate.

  2. Seems to me that you've nullified the very source of your argument. Stressed-out vets seeking vengeance probably shouldn't proffer political opinions, huh?

McCain has sacrificed for this nation in a manner that is unknown to all but a few

  3. His refusal to be released before his fellow soldiers & leading them thru their dark, tortuous days of captivity - for starters!

    Peace

  4. I think you are better off to study McCain's war record before you criticise him. He is disabled through the torture he received, just  like your father, as a POW.

Your father is entitled to his opinion but you have to respect McCain for what he has done for your country.

As it is a democracy, you have the freedom to vote how you wish.

  5. who died and made your dad the voice of vietnam vets?why dont you find out what mccain went through before you evaluate him?what does your dad getting his arms cut open in the 70's have to do with who he votes for?if he didnt get cut is he gonna vote for mccain?

  6. Prestigious??????

What a strange choice of words.  Try instead "Honor," and "Integrity."

Colonel "Bud" Day was a cellmate of John McCain's in the Hanoi Hilton. Day is a Congressional Medal of Honor winner and America's most decorated soldier since WW2.

I think you need to know what Day has to say about McCain's time as a POW.

Revenge?  Oddly enough I have never, ever, heard any vet say anyting like that.  Where on earth did you get an idea like that...... your father?

    G T Baker

    Major/Squadron Commander

    USAF 1960-68

PS - Cloudwall (below) states that McCain gave up intel "to get special treatment."  THAT is intentionally distorting the facts, and therefore calls his entire posting into question.  If he doesn't know the facts, then he is just mistaken.  If he does, then he is an overt liar who is attempting to slime an honorable man for political purposes.

As another vet of that era I get a questionable feeling about what he said.  It just doesn't ring true, and I will bet other vets would say the same thing.

  7. You get a chance for knowing the value of freedom. But McCain did not learn from that chance and he is still working on denying freedoms to others.

  8. I think your Dad is very smart.

  9. people in america are dumb. the responses here are making me angry :| i understand the honor of being a vet, especially a POW, but that doesn't mean ANYTHING about your politics or ability to lead a government. I for one think its a bad idea to have former soldiers as presidents.

  10. Maybe your dad should run for president too, since that's the only thing McCain has going for him. Just kidding but anyway don't even bother with the second answer. I'm sure you're proud of your father and I'm sure your father is proud of himself but he knows that doesn't qualify a man to be president. He's smart...

  11. Your dad is a POW and says that?

Get him some serious help, he's never recovered.

"The point is, most POWs want revenge so get ready for the draft boyz...."

You may be right; the only one I know calling for a new Draft is a Democrat

  12. really doubt your post is legit..... In almost 30 years of service never met a vet, let alone a POW speak like a moveon.org cut and paste post... especially about another Vet/POW

    Sorry,

  13. Lol.  Your dad in all likelyhood was a draft dodger who hid in Canada while McCain was tortured.

Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division RVN 67-68

  14. I may have met your father, I was on Medivac duty 1972-1973, and I agree. Add to that the fact that McCain gave up intel to the enemy to get special treatment, he has admitted to this! I have seen the horrors of war first hand and I know that it should be the very LAST resort, McCain just wants to continue Bush's warmongering.

  15. Depends on how one acts.  In the case of John McCain, he seems to be using it as an instant defense strategy, in that every time that someone criticizes his statements, his surrogates bring up that fact in order to try to deflect the criticism.

If this keeps up, you can take the Giuliani knock and apply it to McCain.  "Noun, Verb, Vietnam POW" instead of "Noun, Verb, 9-11".

  16. McCain served his country with honor and dignity while under duress. I am ashamed for your father ever having said something to disparage another veteran.

  17. Just look at Thomas' response - they use the POW as a way to cover up McCain at every angle.

A difficult question? McCain was a POW.

Some objections about McCain's policies and personality, about his temper and crude humor? How DARE YOU, he was a POW!

    etc.

    It's convenient for them.
