What is so special about CE golf discs?

I'm fairly new to the sport and was wondering why the CE discs go for over $100 on ebay?

CE discs are expensive because they are not made anymore. The value come from their rarity as a collectible, not their quality.  The discs are actually basically the same as the current Champion models, the early runs of them were just called "Champion Edition" instead of "Champion."

So, if you want a disc that you are going to use and plays like a CE, buy one made of Champion plastic. If you want a disc to sit on a shelf that you can tell brag about having, buy a CE disc on ebay.
