What is so spectacular about Mccain?

At first it was a very hard decision.  McCain, Obama...who do I vote for?  Half of me really liked McCain and I was confident that he would take care of us in times of war, no doubt.  But when he started saying things about Putin I really had these bad thoughts.  I thought, "OMG what if he does this and that and then there'll be a war!"  

Obama, I barely knew him.  I did read about him and started liking him.  He seems like a good guy.  I leaned more towards Obama because I was afraid of war, being so close to Russia and all.  

But when the Georgian/Russia war broke out I started thinking again.  I really wished Obama was experienced in these kinds of situations.  I was still in favor of voting Obama but it wasn't 100%.

I've known about McCain ever since his memoir "Faith of my Fathers" came out.  His story, his life, it was all inspiring.  I saw him on t.v. running for a Republican nomination, I think it was in 2000, and I thought, "This guy, there's something about him.  I have a feeling he'll become a president someday."  He didn't win the nomination.  In 2005 when his memoir became a television film I became a lot more interested in him.  I showed that film to my grandfather who is a war veteran and he absolutely loved it.  

I'm not too into politics, I don't know what they did politically in the past.  But he chose my governor as his running mate and that sealed the deal for me.  I trust my governor and like her very much.  By choosing her because he wants her help in shaking up Washington let me know that McCain can make the right choices as a leader of our nation.  And I still have no doubt that he will protect us in times of war and that he's the best guy to do that.

He is on the side of soldiers and the American people.

He is a man who has experience as an airman and senator.

He has voted more than present when it counts

He believes our country is worth protecting.

He has stood up to savages.

He is just a run of the mill generic republican afraid to do anything but vote along party lines. So....nothing.

This is an easy one............NOTHING!!!!!!!!   The only GOOD thing that Senator McCain and the republicans can say about him is that he served in Vietnam and he was a POW(prisoner of war). Don't get me wrong I really do respect and admire Senator McCain for his service to our country but serving in a war does not give up the leadership skills to run a country, maybe it would have in the 1940s. But other than this he is just your average old  conservative Republican.
