if mccain cuts government regulation does anybody believe the economy will go down the toilet due to greed? predatory lending practices i believe are a big reason we are in the housing crisis we are now. yeah i do know there are people who are idiots about signing contracts they cant afford, but what about my mother in laws case where the mortgage payment can jump $3-400 dollars in one month? come on now thats rediculous. and there are so many loopholes for them to go through. why does anybody believe mccain will do anything better? and how is it restricting freedom by atleast a little government regulation on big corporations........do we really want the corporations to own this country? how does a $150billion tax break to joe blow's fortune 500 company help the economy when he's outsourcing all the jobs he can to maximize prophets and getting away with it?

  1. Yes, you would have heard me grip loud and clear about the Patriot Act. Do I like it? No. Is it necessary for the security of the United States? Probably. I don't think the question you asked and the problems presented can be answered and solved by just one person. Simple fact is, more regulation equals less freedom. That's something we American's have been battling since the 1700's.

If you really look at it from a different angle. If people were responsible and took care of their credit by paying their bills, the predatory lending industry would not exist in the first place. I do believe in regulations at the corporate level to protect the normal citizen, especially in the banking, insurance and medical fields. But to have special laws just to protect the stupid because they want something they can't afford is something else.

  2. Ever hear of the slippery slope?  It's never just a "little more" government regulation.

The secret to eternal life is to be born as a temporary government program.

  3. You can't legislate good sense, love, compassion, concern and caring for others.

For every law enacted there is a person who will figure out a way around it to their benefit and not the benenfit of others.

Unless Uncle Sam stops the corporations from moving out of the country to take advantage of tax breaks nothing is going to get better.  And sorry but corporations already own the world and do pretty  much what they want.

McCain is an old man and can't do anything; even if he wasn't he'd need cooperation from to many people to be effective.  We need to take the dollars from the corps.  and the only way to do that is if the majority of the peoole make the basics in their own back yards and trade locally.  And I do mean a majority like 90%.

  4. nobody is answering you Q Why are you arguing with yourself?

  5. "A government that governs least, governs best". There are plenty wrong with more regulations.

  6. When banks refused to loan questionable people money, it was called "discriminatory" in the national media.

Then the banks gave in and loaned those people money, and now the media refers to them as "predatory."

There's about a billion things wrong with more government regulation, I don't even know where to start!
