What is social intelligence?

to communicate with the public, being able to view without judgment.    I interview alot of low income families, and you must be able to communicate without making them feel less human...show respect, with understanding and come down to others level of what they are going through.  

Knowing how to blend in and handle all types of personalities.

I think it boils down to BS....and your willingness to do so.

If you are a good BS'er you always fit in socially, people like it. Until they catch you.

If you really study people who are very sucessful socially they have a high social intelligence, ect. you will find they have many acquaintences who eaqually BS them back, however they in fact have very few actual friends.

Not sure if this is the context of "social" you are looking for.
