  1. Not a fresh new idea, but compost, mulch, compost, plant ground covers and green manures, and compost some more! And plant to prevent erosion of topsoil, along with researching new plowing methods that prevent topsoil from being blown away. And did I mention compost?

  2. Soil Conservation is a set of management strategies for prevention of soil being eroded from the earth’s surface or becoming chemically altered by overuse, salinization, acidification, or other chemical soil contamination. The principal approaches these strategies take are:

    choice of vegetative cover

    erosion prevention

    salinity management

    acidity control

encouraging health of beneficial soil organisms

prevention and remediation of soil contamination

    mineralization

Many scientific disciplines are involved in these pursuits, including agronomy, hydrology, soil science, meteorology, microbiology, and environmental chemistry.

    some steps to conserve soil:

Reducing erosion by wind and water through hedging and ditching

Application of fertilizers at appropriate moments and in adequate doses (i.e., when the plant needs the fertilizer), to avoid run-off (see nitrogen balance method).

Maintaining or restoring soil organic content, by manure application, use of grazing, crop rotation

Reduce soil compaction issues (by avoiding using heavy mechanical devices)

Maintain soil structure, by limiting heavy tillage practices

  3. Soil erosion is one of the biggest threat we are facing. The need to save and conserve the top layer of earth which we call soil is very important for us and our food security.

Saving the soil from erosion, saving its fertility and saving it from degradation are three important factors in conservation of soil.

Soil Erosion: Wind, water and few other factors natural or man made are behind soil erosion. Water is the biggest contributor to this problem, in rainy season a lot of top soil flows away and this is very harmful. To save this we need to plant trees and stop water flow. Trees and man made barriers stop water flow and help in conserving soil.

Soil Fertility and Degradation: Saving the soil is important but saving its fertility is also very important and even this is a part of conservation and preservation.  Degradation in quality of soil due to diffrent reasons especially use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides, insecticides and weedicides is the biggest threat to our food security. Using composts, bio fertilisers, bio insecticides, bio pesticides and controling weeds without use of chemicals are few things we need to take care about.

So, plant more trees, make barriers to stop soil flow, use bio fertilisers and inputs to conserve and preserve our soil and food security.

  4. soil consevation means preserving ..protecting.....conserving  etc etc.. the soil...

  5. soil conservation is preserving the top soil from erosion due to wind, water or other reasons.the best and most efficient process is to plant trees or plants with a good root system [preferably fiberous].this is the cheapest method too. other claimed methods are useless.if there is a warning of flood and there is no time for you to plant saplings and they to grow into trees there is a temporary method to prevent soil erosion.bark of trees or straw and wood chips should be burried in the soil to a depth of 3inches or more.deforestation  should be stopped.this would mean prevention before care.the safest and tireless effort.we should also try and minimize the use of plastic.plastic is non-biodegradeable and poses a lot of problems.

  6. preventing the soil from erosion through wind, water, physical or chemical degradation is called as soil conservation.

    Three ways of soil conservation:

    1. Terrace farming

    2. Contour farming

    3. Tillage

moreover usage of biofertilisers like Bacillus thuringinesis also conserves and retains the fertility and nutirents of soil.

  7. conservation means protecting soil from erosion, contour bunding, etc

  8. soil conservation means preseving the soil frm being erroded...da best way is planting more and more number of trees whch cud prevent soil erosion..
