  1. Well you definitely need a song that is different, not overused, and will make you stand out!

    Jazz:

"Hurt So Bad" - Kina (very jazzy and powerful song)

"Wow" - Kylie Minogue (fun and bubbly)

"Popular" - The Veronicas (very fun to dance to! great beat)

"Manteca (The Funky Lowlives Remix)" - (Jazzy with an amazing beat)

"The Perfect Drug" - Nine Inch Nails (More thrashy)

"Cheap and Cheerful" - The Kills (I love the beat and it's very funky)

"Tell Me Why" - Jakalope (Darker)

"Limp" - Fiona Apple (Also a darker song. Great for a more contemporary jazz. My studio did a routine to this a few years back and it was amazing!)

"Back In Your Head" - Tegan and Sara (Upbeat and quirky)

    Lyrical:

"Slow Me Down" - Emmy Rossum (Simple with not a lot of background music, but the lyrics are very powerful and beautiful)

"Broken" - Lindsey Haun (Sad and strong song. Great chorus)

"Ocean Size Love" - Leigh Nash (Very sweet and not as sad as other songs. I loooove this song.)

"In Another Life" - The Veronicas (Picks up at the end of the song and gets thrashy and powerful. Would be great with some strong choreography)

"It's Only Life" - Kate Voegele (Positive song with great beat)

"In My Arms" - Plumb (I danced to this last year. Really beautiful and the background music is gorgeous!)

"The Way I Am" - Ingrid Michaelson (Cute and more of an upbeat song)

"Halo" - Haley James Scott (Darker with a strong chorus)

You can most of these on iTunes. I think the only one that's not on there is "Hurt So Bad" by Kina. You can find that one and other ones on Limewire. Hope I could help! :)

A New Day Has Come - Celine Dion

    Freeze - Jordin Sparks

No Air - Jordin Sparks ft. Chris Brown

    No One - Alicia Keys
