There is SO much to Mexico’s history that is worth knowing, but the below is just a tiny bit so that you have a basic idea of some of what you will find. I have included some book titles & web links that will give you in depth info. I hope you enjoy it!         :)

Mexico is a federal republic in North America. Mexico was the site of some of the earliest and most advanced civilizations in the western hemisphere. The first major Mesoamerican civilization was established by the Olmec, a people who flourished between about 1500 and 600 BC in the swampy lowlands of what are now the Mexican states of Tabasco and Veracruz. Many scholars consider Olmec civilization to be one of the primary cultures from which subsequent Mesoamerican civilizations drew many of their beliefs, traditions, and architectural styles. For centuries Amerindian civilizations ruled the area until Spanish conquerors took control in the early 16th century. By 1821, Mexico won its independence from Spain. In 1910 the Mexican Revolution brought violent political and social upheaval to Mexico. A new constitution was created in 1917. In 2000, Vicente Fox of the National Action Party was sworn in as the first chief executive elected in free and fair elections.
