What is something cool and inexpensive I can get for everyone on my Christmas list (yeah I know its early)

Okay I know its early, but I like to get all my ducks in a row so to speak early for Christmas shopping. This year I want to get everyone the same thing. For example, last year my brother did this same thing and everyone got these neat little emergency flashlight/radio car kit things. they couldn't have cost more than $10 bucks a piece, and they were functional.

So, who has the best idea for a fairly inexpensive gift that would be good for male and female? I understand that kids would probably need something different. What do I get the kids on my list? (I hate Christmas shopping).

  3. I would try baking something, everybody loves things like that, and then wrapping it up in the Christmas spirit. For families with kids make sugar cookie cutouts (the kids would love it!), some ideas are banana/pumpkin bread, fudge, cookies, pie, cake, anything really. Cook books are also nice books too, or scrap booking things.

  4. Why not simply make plates of homemade fudge and cookies for everybody (assuming they're not diabetic or dieting)? That's what Mom and I do for our local family members and friends every year, and they love our cookies and candy!

If you're good at making crafts, you might also want to consider making your family members and friends wall hangings, table runners, Christmas ornaments, or knitted scarves, sweaters, and hats!

  5. You could make little bags of candy for all the kids

  6. You could get everyone a goody bag sort of thing filled with slightly different things for each person (different colored things, etc)

For the adults/teenagers you could get:

    Small bottle of alcohol

    CD/DVD

    Personalized keyring

    Alcoholic chocolates

For the children you could get:

    Candy

    A card game

    Crayons/felt pens

    Gloves/scarf set

    Socks

Or you could buy a photo album for each person and then fill it with photographs that they would like.

For the children you could put pictures of their favorite cartoon characters or something like that into the album.

  7. One year I bought coffee mugs from my favorite potter for everyone in the family.  I put a packet of hot cocoa mix in each one.

  8. 4 everyone last year, i made huge origami spheres and put candy inside 4 the little kids. i also put a little origami sphere ornament inside. they absolutely luved it. 4 the adults,........hmmm......i don't knoe if they'd like that also, but the adults in my family luved them 2.

    hope i helped a lil

  9. russell stover creams or chocolates..

  10. I usually go to Photoworks.com, put my pictures on the site, order the pictures I like (just a few cents a copy) and then go to Walmart for cheap picture frames.  If you have more time/money you can decorate the frames.  Craft stores have a good selection of stuff you can attach to the frames (stickers, paint, any little trinket that reminds you of the person, the time you've spent with them, or the time the picture was taken).

I don't have very many ideas for kids though.  When I was younger I loved clay and making things of clay, so clay or Play-Dough is one idea.  Those are relatively cheap.  I hope this helps.

  11. 1. Go to the craft store

    2. Buy some clear glass ornaments, several different colors of water-soluble paint and ribbon

    3. Go home

    4. Pour a little bit of a few colors in the ornament (not too much - you don't want it to drip) and either spin the ornament like a top or roll it around... this creates a cool design on the ornament. Let it dry, put the tops back on and use a length of ribbon as the hanger.

Voila! Instant, one-of-a-kind handmade christmas presents! Buy some extra so you can practice the technique and in case you have mess ups.
