What is something healthy I can make for dinner tonight?

I am going to Whole Foods to pick up something to make dinner for my husband and I and I need a new dish, I'm getting sick of the usual! We had fajitas last night so no mexican again! Thanks!

  1. risotto is really easy to make and fairly healthy you can make that with a nice fish filet

  3. Roast Lamb.

    2.5kg Leg of lean lamb

    1 Clove garlic, sliced

    1T Rosemary

    Lemon juice

    Salt & black pepper

    Preheat oven to 200C (400F)

    Cut small slits in lamb and insert the garlic. Rub meat with rosemary and lemon juice and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

    Place meat in roasting pan and roast, uncovered, for 20 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 170C (340F) and roast for 20 minutes per pound.

    Serve with minted pan gravy.

  7. One of my favorite quick and healthy dinners is a Polenta Pizza. In a spring form pan spread to polenta across the bottom. Then put some organic cheese and veggies on top of the polenta, if you eat meat some kosher ground beef (cooked) is good too. I usually do not put any sauce on it because it can make it too mushy. Bake it in the oven for about 20-30 mins at 325, or until the cheese is melted. Remove it from the oven. I usually put tomato slices on the top after it is cooked in place of the sauce. My Husband loves this dish, I have to make it at least once a week.

  8. If you really want something healthy and good I would say: chicken with asparagus, mushrooms and shrimp. you can add the seasonings that you like (maybe basil, black pepper..) Its very healthy and it tastes very good!!

  10.                              Favorite Chicken Casserole

    2c. cooked meat (chicken, turkey, or ham)

    2c. defrosted frozen veggie (broccoli, asparagus, mixed veggies, etc).

    1 can cream of chicken soup

    1/2c mayo

    1/2tsp. curry powder

    1/2tbsp. lemon juice

    1/2c. shredded cheddar cheese

    1 slice bread

    2tbsp. butter, melted

    Preheat oven at 350F degrees.  Place meat and veggie in casserole

    dish.  Then mix soup, curry powder, mayo, lemon juice & cheese.

    Spread mix over meat & veggies.  Break bread slice into small

    pieces & mix with melted butter.  Sprinkle the bread pieces over the

    top & bake for 25 minutes.  Serve with rice or pasta noodles.

                                       Apple Meatloaf

    2 lbs. hamburger

    1 pkt. french's onion soup mix

    1 green pepper

    1 lg egg

    1/3c. breadcrumbs

    1 grannysmith apple (chopped-DE-skinned)

    ketchup

    Preheat oven at 350 degrees.  Mix all ingredients together except

    ketchup in a large bowl.  Spread mixture out in a 9 x 13' pan.

    Spread a layer of ketchup over the meatloaf and bake for 45-60

    minutes until meat is cooked through.  Serves 6.

                                   Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken

    1/2 lb. fettucine, uncooked

    1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken b*****s, cut into strips

    11/4c. fat-free  reduced-sodium chicken broth

    4tsp. flour

    4 oz. (1/2 of 8oz) Philadelphia Neufchatel cheese, cubed

    3tbsp. Kraft grated parmesan cheese, divided

    1/4tsp. garlic powder

    1/4tsp. pepper

    Cook pasta as directed on package.

    Meanwhile, heat large nonstick skillet sprayed on medium-high heat.

    Add chicken; cook 5-7 min. or until chicken is cooked through, stir-

    ring occasionally.  Remove from skillet.  Mix broth & flour in same

    skillet.  Stir in Neufchatal cheese, 2 tbsp. parmesan cheese, the

    garlic powder & pepper; cook 2 min., stirring constantly with wire

    whisk until mixture boils & thickens.  Stir in chicken.

    Drain pasta; place in large serving bowl.  Pourchicken mixture over

    pasta; toss to coat.  Sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese.

    Serves4.

Whole foods has the best fresh fish selection ever... get a couple of fish steaks, season and sautee in a pan with some olive oil... about 5 minutes each side.  Steam some fresh asparagus in a shallow pan for about 7 minutes, season with lemon and dill.  They sell this awesome couscous in a box, too. yum.....

  13. wholewheat pasta or a vegetable curry? if u don't make it with a cream base, curries are surprisingly low in calories. and 1 portion of vegetable curry provides 2 of your 5 a day!
