  1. Just they fact that you thought of him is great!   What did you always say to him?  You know... every Friday, when you leave class?  That's how he'll remember you.

One of my seniors came back last week after graduation.  He was one of my best, I told him I wouldn't tell him goodbye.  You don't ever have to say goodbye, because in some form or another your teacher sticks with you.  Use your words, they will mean the most to your teacher.

  2. "This gift is in appreciation for the years of patients you have provided as well as the knowledge you have shared. Thanks for everything."

    Just an idea

  3. I am a high school teacher, so I think I can help.  I would be absolutely floored by such a sweet thing from a student.

I would suggest writing out how the teacher helped you.  Did they help boost your confidence?  How did they make your class interesting?  Does your future career have anything to do with the subject they teach?

There are also some good inspirational poems about teachers and their impact on the lives of students.  Try "googling" or "yahooing" this.

I hope this helps - maybe you can post a draft of your ideas.
