  5. "We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand."

Randy Pausch, Professor, Author of "The Last Lecture"  What else needs to be said?  I'm sure everyone knows his story and that he recently died at the ago of 47 from pancreatic cancer.  If you are not familiar with him or his book(s), I urge you to look it up on the internet - he was one awesome guy!  I recently sent his book "The Last Lecture" to my daughter and son-in-law who had experienced an unexpected  traumatic financial setback and were struggling through it.  They said his words were extremely helpful.

    "Bloom where you are planted."

I don't know who the author is of this motto but it has been around for years.  I first read it in a greeting card.  I gave the card to a friend who was struggling with a move she was making and she wasn't sure she would be happy in her new home.  She told me later that those 5 little words helped her immensely in adjusting to her new life.
