What is soooooo great about golf?

Question

I really need to know, I'm not trying to make fun...I love most sports...I'm a big basketball fan. I love soccer, tennis and hockey...watch almost any sport

EXCEPT golf...

I mean, I'll even watch nascar over it..i really dont get it so I was wondering if some people can shed some light on whats so great about this sport.

All I see is some tubby white guys (minus tiger)...in almost business attire swinging a stick with a little itty bitty ball...far away...and the most exciting part seems to be whree it lands....

so what is it about golf that you ppl love?

I love working on my own, if I don't win a tournament, its my fault, I am the only one to blame, not a bunch of team members.

If I do win a tournament, I did it on my own, and feel really proud of accomplishing it.

Also have a drink of hateraide because someone is hatiiiin.

Mark Twain said golf is a good walk spoiled . I don't know what channel you are watching but there  are not too many fat guys out there now. There are a lot of workout nuts out there , Camilo V . , I mean look at those guys , not a speck of fat . They walk the couse every day . The challenge is between the ears and muscle memory to perform under pressure . Don't hit it in the water , make that 3 ft. putt and ohh yeah  it could cost you 250 k !! I love to watch the back nine on Sunday T V , some are choking their guts out !!    You can find out a lot about a person on a golf course .

in my opinion

Sports like tennis, soccer, and basketball don't take too much talent to play.

golf on the other hand actually takes a lot of practice and talent.

on a side note, it IS a sport.

its pretty physically demanding. Most people don't even use golf carts.

they lug a huge bag of clubs, balls, food, etc on their back

walk roughly...4-9 miles on a golf course thats usually elevated, and play golf on top of that.

the majority of golfers don't have bi***es to carry around their gear and do everything for them

people like golf for the same reason you may like basketball or some other sport. its enjoyable, (though not in your perspective)

If you have to ask this question, it would be a waste of anyone's time to attempt to exlain things or enlighten you.  Just go back to NASCAR, or any of the other sports which are easy to figure out.

its definitely a sport! try hitting a hole in one. just because people arent screaming and hurting each other like football doesnt mean its not a sport!!!!!! its more about precision and accuracy and its hard!!!!!!!!

Is golf a sport? I always thought of it as something to do when im to old to play hockey.

From a spectator's view team sports are more interesting to watch, except maybe the 100m Olympic finals. Woman's tennis is great too, as an asthetic event. But from an athete's

perspective actually hitting a golf ball properly and seeing it

rise against the background of trees and sky is both beautiful

and exciting.

I think you have to play it to appreciate the talent that these pros you're watching on tv have.  Its a hard game to be good at and to see what some of these pros can do is absolutely amazing.

you must play the game to understand the beauty of golf. its a relaxing sport and if your bad at it..you get better with extra beer you drink-----tiger is super gifted..its hard to drive a ball 400 yrds like tiger does not many in the world can do it

this is exactly the question i used to think?

why would any1 want to play golf. it looks boring and easy.

until my grandad bought ne a 2nd hand set of junior clubs about 2/3 yrs ago.

i went round a pitch and put in ALOT!!!

but it got me hooked..

now its my favorite sport

to enjoy golf you have to play it

ignoor the guy that says its a game to play when your too old for hockey.

i think of hockey to be a game u play WHEN YOU CANT PLAY GOLF

go give it a go at the driving range

see if you like it

its far more difficult than people think.
