Question:

What is space sitting on/in?

This is what I think:

Space is like,.. the air in a vacuum cleaner bag. Say the air is space and all the little dust particles/rocks, etc are planets, stars, rocks in the sky, etc. Well. The air in the vacuum is um,... in the vacuum bag.

So. What is space in?? It HAS to be something.

Also, for the record: I don't study space. But I'm fascinated with it. I don't know much. So,.. Feel free to not only answer my question, but to also add anything you find interesting about space or facts.

Thanks!

  1. as far as we know, space isn't in or on anything.... it's just space... everything is in/on space, but not vice versa...

but what you're asking is impossible to answer... we just really don't know a whole lot about our universe.... we know practicly nothing (although most people walk around thinking we know a good deal)

  2. a stack of tortoises.

  3. space is by definition the thing that other things sit on/in (one definition of it, anyhow)... it makes no sense to suppose that there is something else that space sits on. it's not necessary. it's just complicating things to no purpose. think about this... what is it that you're trying to explain by suggesting this?

  4. well space is space
