  1. a special need is a need which u specailly nedd for ur studies......okay dont get confused okay sweet frnd:):)

  2. special needs means someone who has a mental disabitliy like ADHD ( I have ADHD), ADD, Bipolar, Apraxia, Dislexicia, Down syndrome, Autism, etc. and they can also be a physical disability like muscular distrophy, dwarfisim, spinal cord injuries, people who are paralyzed in car accidents, etc. but that doesn't make them stupid or incappable to forfill their dreams and Thomas Edison, Ben Franklin, Aristotle, Leonardo Di Vinci, Picasso all had a learning disability and if they weren't alive we might not be here today!

  3. Special needs is a thing that somepeople or kids need for their handicap.

  4. Special needs is someone who needs extra help with things like learning or doing tasks

  5. it can be :

physical difficulty, speech/communication, learning difficulty (eg dyslexia), emotional/behaviour difficulty

can be short term eg. in wheel chair for short time or long term/life long eg autism

but I don't like the term because as every child is an individual every child must have a special need  i.e. special to themself!

  6. Anything that a teacher has to make special provision for outside of the main bulk of the class.

So it could be having differentiated work for lower attainers, access for children with physical disabilities, modified behaviour programmes for children with emotional issues, having an interpreter for children with another language and anything where a child needs special provision.

It also means changes for more able children.  Does a child need an extension activity or a more challenging problem than the rest of the class?  Can this child do maths from the year above and would it be more appropriate?

Just because a child is more able doesn't mean they can be ignored because they aren't struggling.

  7. Special needs just means that someone needs things that other people may or may not need. Its kind of hard to explain. My two sons are both autistic but one is high functioning and needs very little assistance with things and my youngest is severely autistic and needs alot of help with most of his day doing the little things sometimes are hard for him. Special needs just means that you need some help with things.Sharon W.

  8. special needs can inlcude

    physical needs

    emotional needs

    learning needs

    etc.

they are needs that the average person doesn't have

generlaly refers to people with disabilities-

in some areas they include people who are academically gifted (which I just found out through research)

  9. It can be a wide variety of things; a person who has problems learning, taking care of themselves, or interacting with others, or who might be considered mentally handicapped.  It might be a person that you need to take extra time and special measures to teach them something new, or they might even need to be completly taken care of in all parts of life.
