  1. MIcrowaves are small radio waves(about 4 inches long), a part of the electromagnetic spectrum, as is light.. They travel at the speed of light.300,000 Km /sec. There is nothing faster than the speed of light.

The speed of light is the speed of microwaves.  Microwaves, technically speaking are light however it is not a wavelength that is in the visible spectrum of light.  Microwave ovens generally operate at 2450 Mhz with a frequency of .122 m.  Multiply those two and you get.....    voila the speed of light which is 2.99 x 10 to the eighth power.

    Measuring this speed requires expensive equipment, but I found a cool site that will give you an at home method of doing this.  The two links I'm including have additional information.
