i found this on my computer desk top and i don't know what it is or means

It is supposed to be a program that will speed up your computer for free. Here is their website:http://www.speeditupfree.com/

I have never used it or heard of it, so I don't know how good it is, but it is not necessary for your computer's health.

Delete it immediately from your desktop. It is probably spyware that downloaded itself when you visited another website. McAfee site advisor has a warning about that website: www.speeditupfree.com

Apparently it does not work any way and install loads of cr*p on your PC

Speed It Up Free is downloadable program that is supposed to help speed up your computer.   Sounds like it was downloaded to your computer and doing so put an icon on your desktop.
